Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. When she was five, she moved to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress when she was just at the age of six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute that offers part-time classes. By the age of ten she was performing and taking part in many Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through their Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these roles. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. The film broke records for beginning-day and weekend-opening sales as well as being the most-grossing feature of the year 2001. Critics have praised both the film and the performances by the three young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma received five nominations for her exceptional performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of the Film.
