Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress, best known for her performances in the films Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! She began her career in the 1980s and came into prominence thanks to her character in the film Tezaab in which she was a part of the cast with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Then she appeared in the film Dil In which she starred alongside Aamir Khan. She was born into an Mumbai middle-class family and began dancing when she was a child. At the age of 15 began acting, but struggled as many films she made were not successful. She eventually became one of the most famous actresses in Indian films. She took a break from acting following her marriage before returning to the entertainment industry. Recently, she played a major performance on the film Gulaab Gang. The film featured the challenges faced by women across India. Dixit has received 15 Filmfare Awards nominations, of which eight she won. Padma Shri was awarded to her, which is the fourth-highest civil honour in India. She also has a reputation for her social activism.
